TAF Tradie App Finder Australia beta

Methodology

How we compare tradie software

Tradie App Finder compares job management software from the perspective of Australian trade businesses. We prioritise workflow fit over generic feature counts because the best software is the one a field team will actually use every day.

What we score

  • Trade fit: whether the software matches electricians, plumbers, HVAC, cleaning, roofing, or handyman workflows.
  • Team fit: whether it suits solo operators, small crews, growing teams, or larger field-service businesses.
  • Workflow depth: quoting, scheduling, forms, job costing, inventory, compliance, reporting, and complex jobs.
  • Mobile fit: how important the field app is to the recommendation and whether device mix needs testing.
  • Accounting fit: whether Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, or other accounting integrations are listed by the vendor.

Source policy

We link to official vendor websites and pricing pages as the primary source for plan and feature verification. We avoid publishing exact prices when they have not been manually verified because SaaS plans, regions, add-ons, and billing rules change.

How to use our recommendations

Treat each recommendation as a shortlist, not a final purchase decision. Before buying, run a real job through the tool, confirm accounting sync with your bookkeeper, and check official vendor pricing. If the software fails the field workflow, it is not the right choice even if it wins a feature category.

Limitations

  • Some vendors use quote-based pricing, so public cost comparisons can only be directional.
  • Feature availability may vary by region, plan, module, or implementation package.
  • Affiliate relationships may be added later, but recommendations should remain based on workflow fit.

Update process

Each page includes a last-checked date where software data is shown. The intended update workflow is to revisit official pricing pages, product pages, and integration pages before refreshing recommendations. Pages that mention pricing, trials, integrations, or plan limits should be checked more often than evergreen workflow guidance.

What we do not do

We do not present public pricing as final contract pricing when a vendor requires a quote. We do not claim a tool is best for every trade business. We do not replace vendor demos, bookkeeping checks, or legal review of software terms. The goal is to help users build a better shortlist before they spend time with sales teams.
